Messages from the Alcova Administrators........

Todd Langley: As I enter my 10th year with Gwinnett County Public Schools, I can not think of a better place to be than with the faculty, staff, students and parents of Alcova Elementary. I have previously served as a teacher and an assistant principal in Savannah-Chatham County Schools and have always enjoyed working with children. My wife Heather and I have four daughters, Morgan 11, Addisyn 10, Ella 8, and Violet 4. They keep us very busy outside of school. As we begin the 2012-2013 school year we are focused on providing the best educational experiences possible for all of our students. It is a pleasure to serve this community and work with such a wonderful group of professionals.

Kia Henley: I couldn't be more delighted than to join the Administrative Team at Alcova Elementary!  As I embark on my 8th year in education, I am honored to serve as an Administrator for Kindergarten, 1st grade, and Special Education. My belief is that all children can learn and achieve at high levels, and my love for children, their families, and their diverse cultures have contributed to my success as an educator. With great pleasure, I look forward to getting to know and welcoming new students and their families to our warm and caring community at Alcova

Margo Martin: I love my job! I have been in education for 36 years with 25 of those years being an Assistant Principal. I started my career as a fourth grade teacher in the Marietta School System but have been in Gwinnett Public County Schools for 29 years. When the doors of Alcova Elementary School first opened in 2004, I was honored to be the Assistant Principal. It has been amazing to watch this wonderful school grow. I officially retired as of June 1, 2012 but I truly could not stay away from the job I love so much. I have now joined the Alcova family once again and am currently working as a part time assistant principal. I work with kindergarten, first grade and special education. I look forward to another great school year, full of learning and fun.

Maureen Pond:I am the Assistant Principal for second and third grades. It is exciting to be beginning my 28th year in education and my 27th year in Gwinnett County Public Schools. I have been at Alcova since we opened and have loved watching our school evolve and grow. Each year brings new adventures and I look forward to getting to know your children if they are new to our school, or welcoming them back for another great year. Please let me know if I can help you in any way.

Cyndi Smith: I have been an educator for 19 years and am beginning my 3rd year as an assistant principal at Alcova Elementary.  I'll be working with 4th and 5th grades this year as well as continuing to be the Title I contact.  I am the proud mother of 3 and when not spending time with Alcova's amazing kids, I love spending time with my own.  It's going to be a fantastic year and I look forward to working with you.
