REGION TOURNAMENT CHAMPS!!
Congratulations to our Track Team at the Distance Medley Relay - NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!
The CHHS track team defeated the best of New York and New England in their specialty event.
It was an exciting race with the Eagles coming from behind to take the lead with 200m to go and win in 11:42 - the #14 time in U.S. history!
Nicky Akande, Symone Glover, Sydney Williams, Amanda Winslow. The mark was also #1 in the nation this year and a school, county, and state record!In case you missed our great news, a group of Track girls competed at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro, NC - which is basically, a high school national championship. We sent 5 girls to compete in 3 events with the following results:
Sprint Medley Relay:
Sydney Williams, Carmen Garcia, Symone Glover, Nicky Akande
4th place, All-Americans, 4:01.82 - a new Georgia state record (along with County and School)
Girls Two Mile:
Amanda Winslow
4th place, All-American, 10:19.79c - #2 in the history of Georgia as well as a County and School record
