Mrs. Lampros

About The Teacher:
My name is Sue Ellen Lampros. I started teaching at Cooper Elementary in January 2010 so this is my 2nd year at Cooper Elementary.  I am very excited to be here for this school year.  Before coming to Cooper, I worked at Camp Creek Elementary for several years in the Vision Impaired program and in the computer lab.  Teaching is a second career for me.  I worked in Human Resources in a corporate setting for over 20 years.    I recently received my Masters of Arts in Teaching from Brenau University. I love being in the classroom and working with elementary students.
My husband, Ray, and I have been married for 17 years. We have two wonderful sons who attend school in the Parkview District.  In my free time, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.
About the Program:

I am an Interrelated Resource teacher here at Cooper.  This gives me the opportunity to employ two different teaching models. For part of the day,  I am in a general education classroom with a general education teacher. The students receiving special education support are in that room and I support them as well as all the other students in that class. The general education teacher and I teach together and we both support all of the students. This year I am working with Mrs. Heffernan's Kindergarten class and Mrs. Joines' 1st grade class.  I also have the opportunity to pull students that need additional one-on-one time into my classroom for more intensive instructional opportunities.
Expectations & Communication:
I expect all of my students to work hard and give their personal best each day.  My goal is to assist each student to perform on grade level in all subject areas.  I expect students to complete homework given by myself or the general education teacher.  It is so important for parents to spend time with their children each night reading and reviewing homework and/or particular areas of difficulty for their child.

I will communicate with parents if there is an area of concern for their child.  Progress reports will be given periodically throughout the school year.  I believe a child's education is a partnership between the child, the parents and the teachers.  I am available to discuss issues and concerns at any time.  It is best to reach me via e-mail or by leaving a phone message in the front office.  I will respond to parent concerns as quickly as possible.
