My career:
I began teaching in 2001 after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.  I also earned my master's degree from UNCW in 2004.  My teaching history includes time in 6th and 7th grade, and for the past 7 years, have been a 5th grade teacher.  I love teaching and my 5th grade teacher is the reason I came into this profession!  My certification areas include elementary and middle grades, as well as gifted education.

My family:
I grew up in the Lawrenceville area and moved to Greensboro, North Carolina when I was in high school.  Upon graduation, I moved to Wilmington, NC and attended college.  This is where I met my wonderful husband and Wilmington native, Kris.  We married in 2001 and now have 2 beautiful daughters.  Elizabeth, born in 2004, and Gracie, born in 2008.  Kris and I chose to relocate to the Grayson area in 2006 to be near my family.
 

Each Friday, you can expect your child to bring home a Friday Folder with their graded work for the previous week.  I also try my best to send home progress reports via email on Friday afternoons.
