The mission of the technology department at Cooper is to enhance teaching and learning through the successful integration of technology into the curriculum.

We believe that the most effective way to accomplish this mission is to provide ongoing professional development opportunities for our teachers so they may improve their level of technological fluency. We also provide Techie Quickies which consist of a variety of 40 minute mini-lessons during teacher planning times.

Meet the Tech Team.

We are pleased to offer students a variety of technology resources.

Computers

We have four computer labs with 30 student workstations, and one intervention lab with 10 workstations. The workstations feature Microsoft XP OS and a variety of instructional software packages including Office XP, Kidspiration, Inspiration, TimeLiner, and Kid Pix Studio Deluxe 4 . Each computer features high speed Internet access. Every classroom has a student workstation with an identical configuration.

Video Production Lab

The fully equipped video production lab is available for student and teacher use. Students can shoot and edit their own video productions using the audio visual and editing equipment found in this lab. This is the location from which our live news show is broadcast each morning. WWJC consists of a team of ten 5th grade students who rotate every six to nine weeks. The news program is directed and produced by the students and is sponsored by Mrs. Watson and Mrs. Schleier.
