Parental transportation must be provided and your student must not be allowed out of the car until the doors are opened at 7:15 in order to participate in the club.
 
Club: Art Club 4th Graders

Mission/Purpose: The purpose of Art Club is to extend their art specials classroom activities and to introduce them to new materials. It is extra time to be creative and to learn about/from other artists.
When: 3rd Nine Weeks on Tuesdays

Club: Dyer Advanced Instrument Ensemble

Mission/Purpose: Mission/Purpose: This club is limited to 30 students by audition. We will learn pieces on xylophones, recorders, drums and various unpitched percussion instruments. Students are also welcome to play solos on their main instrument for our performance. Last year we performed for senior citizens at their monthly meeting at 1st United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville. We will be performing somewhere in March, 2012. Cost is $15 which covers our club tee shirt, transportation to our field trip and music.
When: This club will meet once a week after school beginning in January 2012 and will conclude after our performance in March 2012. Dates will be announced at a later time.
Club: Chorus 4th and 5th Graders
Faculty Advisor(s): Sherry Coulombe
Mission/Purpose: Chorus is open to all 4th & 5th grade students. I do not audition students for chorus. Our goal is to produce a top-notch staged holiday musical. We work on singing in unison and in harmony, develop a sense of teamwork and learn how to be creative and create the ultimate aesthetic experience. Some highlights of chorus are our pizza party, Sing for Santa at a Gwinnett Gladiators Game (Saturday, December 10) and produce our show, North Pole Exposure (Thursday, December 8). Chorus Fee is $15 which helps cover the cost of practice CDs, some costumes and props, and our chorus shirts.
When: Every Wednesday morning at 7:15 beginning on September 7. MANDADTORY after school rehearsals are Wednesday afternoon on November 16, November 30 and December 7th.
Club: P.E. 4th and 5th Graders

Mission/Purpose: The purpose of the Dyer PE Club is to have a club for fourth and fifth grade students who enjoy being challenged in athletics.  The students will participate in a variety of activities including individual games and team games. They will be exposed to many activities that they do not see in PE class.
When: 4th Nine Weeks

Mission/Purpose: Witzzle Pro is a club for fourth grade students who enjoy solving number puzzles. The children will be challenged to use higher level thinking skills while playing a challenging game of “number crunching.”

Club: Writer's Club

Mission/Purpose: Students selected by the 5th grade teachers will participate in creative writing lessons in order to develop themselves as writer's and demonstrate excellence in their daily writing activities.
When: Monday afternoons during the 2nd and 3rd Nine Weeks
Club: Animation Club 4th and 5th Graders

Mission/Purpose: The purpose of the Animation Club is to express creative thinking through the use of animation utilizing software or digital photography.

Club: Chess Club 1st - 5th Graders

Mission/Purpose: The purpose of the Dyer Chess Club is to enhance the students’ critical thinking skills by providing multiple opportunities to analyze a situation, decide on the best response to that situation, and be able to accept and deal with the consequences of their actions.

Club: Beta Club

Club: School Store
Faculty Advisor(s): Sean Ahern
Mission/Purpose: Students selected by the 5th grade teachers with Mr. Ahern will assist in running the school store. Students will have input in selecting merchandise to sell at the school store. Students will develop communication skills while assisting student customers.
