Merle Soodyall's second grade rock band at Stripling Elementary (kids play electric bass, drums, electric guitars and acoustic guitars) performed the Black Eyed Peas song "I gotta a Feeling" for a Stripling Open House event and was noticed by a company Corus360. (This company is also sponsoring a hat, scarf, pair of gloves and socks to all 1,200 students at the school).
The song was such a hit that Little Kids Rock requested copy of the video to forward on to the (real) Black Eyed Peas - who are subsequently a big funder of Little Kids Rock. This is great news for the music students at Stripling.
This is from Allison Rickards at Corus 360:
"We are spreading the word. There are so many technology companies in the area that might be able to help – I spoke to Little Kids Rock and they want other companies in this community to learn about the music program through some PR.
