2. How is FMLA usage affected by both spouses working for GCPS?

A: A husband and wife who are eligible for FMLA leave and are employed by the same covered employer may be limited to a combined total of 12 weeks of leave during any 12-month period.

3. Can an employee take off under FMLA for the care of their spouse following the birth of a child?

A: An employee would be allowed to take off under FMLA for the care of their spouse for the first six weeks, or until no longer disabled, following the birth of a child. This also applies if both parties are employees with GCPS.
