Benefits Information for Terminating GCPS Employees

  • Health, dental, vision, legal, critical illness/cancer plus, life, supplemental life, dependent life, and short-term disability benefits will end the last day of the month following the employee's last paycheck (ie. if the final paycheck is July 31, the above benefits will end on August 31.).

  • Flexible Spending health care and dependent care benefits will end the day of the employee's final paycheck. Receipts for services incurred before that date must be submitted for reimbursement within 90 days.

  • Submit an Employee Data Change form to the Compensation Office, if the terminating employee's mailing address changes. Forms can be faxed to Compensation at 678-301-6117

  • For health insurance purposes, submit a state health Change and Miscellaneous Update Form form to the Benefits office, as well, if the terminating employee's mailing address changes. Benefits fax number: 678-301-6054

  • Each terminated employee will receive COBRA information after coverage expires.

An exit package will be mailed to the employee's most recent address on file once the Board of Education approves the separation.
