All GCPS benefit-eligible employees are provided Basic Term Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance coverage of $15,000 provided by the Board of Education at no charge to the employee.
Supplemental Life Insurance is an Anytime Benefit and can be reduced or discontinued during the plan year through the employee portal.
MetLife Supplemental Life Insurance
All benefit-eligible employees may elect Supplemental Life Insurance coverage up to six times their annual salary. All applications reviewed and approved by MetLife. All group policies are term life and reflect employee's age and salary.
NOTE: If the Supplemental Life Insurance amount elected through the Employee Portal is higher than what the active employee currently has, the employee must also print, complete, and submit a MetLife Statement of Health Questionnaire to the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company address or fax number listed on the questionnaire.
MetLife Dependent Life Insurance
All benefit-eligible employees may elect Dependent Life Insurance coverage of $5,000, $10,000, or $15,000 for spouse and each dependent age six months and older. Dependent Life Insurance is an Anytime Benefit and can be elected or discontinued throughout the plan year via the Employee Portal.
