State Health Plans

United Healthcare and CIGNA Healthcare are the two State Health Plans offered to GCPS employees. The coverage program and premiums are the same for both plans. Review the New Employee State Health Decision Guide for plan details. Be sure to check with plan your personal healthcare provider(s) participate.
State Health also offers a Tricare Supplement for employees who are retired from the military, a spouse of a retired military or active duty service member, or enrolled in TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS), or a spouse of a disable veteran and have CHAMPVA.

Please Note:
- A tobacco surcharge of $80 will be applied to monthly premium if the employee or their dependent(s) are tobacco users.

| State Health Tobacco Surcharge Information |
| The State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) Policy has implemented a policy for non-tobacco users who wish to have the tobacco surcharge removed. Members can have their tobacco surcharge removed by completing a Health Assessment Questionnaire and a telephonic cessation course. |
