If you return to work in a SHBP benefits eligible position, the state retirement system will cease taking your SHBP deductions from your state annuity and deductions must be made through your employer. Once you leave active work status, you must notify SHBP immediately to resume deductions from your state annuity. Coverage will not automatically rollover and will cause you to lose eligibility for SHBP coverage. If you have questions, please contact Betty Mason with Gwinnett Retirement Services at 678-301-6268.
