Attention 7th grade parents:
This letter is to inform you that the county has recently made a decision to change the promotion requirements for 7th grade students. As a result of this decision, the Math Reasoning Test (MRT) will not be administered this school year to our 7th grade students. Additionally, it will no longer be a part of the promotion criteria for the 2009-2010 school year. Letters will also be sent home on Friday, January 22, 2010 with your child regarding this change.
The revised 7th grade promotion requirements for 2009-2010 are available here on our website for your review.

November 13, 2009, registration information for Gwinnett School
of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST) for the 2010-11
freshman class will be available on the GCPS web site (www.gwinnett.k12.ga.us)
and on the school web site (www.gsmst.org). Applications must
be submitted no later than January 22, 2010, for consideration.
GSMST is a charter school and therefore enrollment is open to
all current Gwinnett County 8th grade students who complete
the 8th grade requirements and who reside in the Gwinnett County
Public Schools attendance zone. The rigorous course work at
GSMST may not meet the needs of all students. As this is a school
of choice, it is highly recommended that parents and students
review the GSMST curriculum and learn more about the school's
offerings before making a decision to register.
