Strategic Priority #4 - Parents & Guardians

Parents & Guardians beliefs:

  • The schools cannot do it alone. Families must be partners in their student's education.
  • Students are most successful when parents/guardians reinforce high expectations for learning & behavior.
  • When families and teachers communicate about common concerns & share ideas & information, children benefit.
  • Regular attendance, personal responsibility, & hard work translate to student success. High expectations & encouragement from parents/guardians can reinforce these characteristics in kids.
  • The more that families know about their child's school, the school's improvement plans, & school system initiatives to support student achievement, the more confidence they have in their school and the more supportive they are of GCPS.
