○ The AKS are the standards for academic excellence for all students in Gwinnett County Public Schools.
○ The AKS are the curriculum.
○ AKS are the “what” teachers are to teach and students are to learn.
○ Materials provided for classroom use are tools for teaching the AKS curriculum.
○ Teachers are expected to consider the instructional needs of their individual students when making decisions about how to most effectively use the material available to teach the AKS.
