   What are vitamins? Vitamins are are organic substances that your body needs for normal growth and metabolism. There are different vitamins and they are named with letters from the alphabet. There are 13 different vitamins in the human body. Two of these vitamins in the human body are produced by the human body alone. These vitamins are vitamin K and vitamin D.
