Principal’s Message

Every morning as I enter the doors here at Nesbit, I’m reminded of why we do what we do. As I’m greeted daily with our "Practicing
Excellence in Everything We Do" motto, I’m challenged to make every day better than the one before it.
Here at Nesbit, we are called the Navigators. Well, what exactly does it mean to be a navigator? What is a navigator and what does a
navigator do? Webster describes a navigator as one who is qualified to navigate. Looking at the word navigate, we see that to navigate means
to steer a course through a medium. Going deeper, we see that a medium is thus described as a condition or environment in which something may
function or flourish. So here at Nesbit, we are the Navigators. We are thus qualified to steer the course of our students through the
environment that we create so that they can function as learners and flourish as we help them build a solid foundation and prepare for a
successful transition into middle school.
My role then is that of the Chief Navigator. My role is to support each and every staff member in creating an environment that they look
forward to coming to everyday. My role is to empower our staff and our students. As the Chief Navigator, I exist to help to make our
students’ possibilities become their REALITIES. My goal is help our students to realize that they are Navigators. Navigators know how to
follow but they also know they must lead because someone is following. They don’t sit idle; they move because they know others are feeding off
their motion. They don’t quit; they run with endurance the race that is before them because they know the prize is bigger than what the eyes
can see. They don’t rest on past achievements; they strive for greater excellence because anything less is unacceptable. Here are Nesbit we
are the Navigators and we are proud.
Parents and students, we exist for you. If we can be of any assistance, please don’t ever hesitate to call on us.
