Last year, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra director Juan Ramirez worked with Summerour Middle School's students. He received the Ford Musician Award for Excellence in Community Service.
The video made to honor his work featured Summerour and our students. Watch it here.

Most of you are aware of the huge problem inappropriate use of social media has become over the last several years because people don’t #ThinkBeforeYouPost .
Gwinnett County Public Schools is now a partner with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, better known as the FBI, to raise awareness among students about the consequences that can arise from their online behavior. We will be selecting two Summerour students to serve on the think before you post student ambassador program for Gwinnett county schools. If you have great ideas for reaching and teaching your peers about being good digital citizens and thinking before they post, ask your teacher to recommend you. Your knowledge may help someone else stay out of social media trouble.
If you want the full info, visit the GCPS website. However, some of the topics they address, the links are below:

As part of our vision for unity and school spirit at Summerour Middle School. We believe that students who are dressed for success do better in school. We require each student to adhere to our mandatory uniform policy.
This mandatory uniform policy allows students to focus on the important part of school, academics.
We want each student to be the best they can be.
If you still need to purchase IB-specific polos and pants, visit Gumdrops and check out their available packages.
Gumdrops uniform wear are also available in Summerour's Media Center from 8:15 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. only, once school begins.
