Science Fair @ Summerour

Welcome to the Summerour Science Fair Page!  This is our fourth year participating in this valuable STEM experience.  Science Fair is mandatory for all Summerour accelerated science students for grades 6 to 8. We have three different levels of competition in the middle school science fair: the Local School Fair, the Gwinnett County Fair, and the Georgia State Fair.

In 2015-16, Summerour students won five various placements in the Gwinnett County Fair including two first places, two second places, and one third place.  They also won two placements, one third place and one fourth places, in the Georgia State Fair in Athens.

Summerour also offers a science fair club where the students get help from coaches to complete their projects.

We encourage parents to help their children choose unique high-quality project ideas in order to be successful in the competitions.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mrs. Duggirala at 678-895-4772.

We are looking forward to another successful Science Fair Year 2017-18!

2016-2017 Local Winners:

We had a great local fair on Wednesday, Dec 7. SMS students produced high quality projects. Several SMS science teachers and judges selected the top three projects from each grade level. We selected 8/9 projects in the next round to take to the Gwinnett County Science Fair, which will be held in February, 2017.
