MAXWELL HIGH SCHOOL RECEIVES SKILLS USA MEMBERSHIP AWARD
The Skills USA Georgia Fall Leadership Conference was held September 16-17 at St. Simons Island, GA. Maxwell High School of Technology had 25 students, four teachers and one parent attend the conference. The conference program is designed to provide participants an opportunity to increase their leadership, communication, and teambuilding skills. Maxwell had 14 students earn their Georgia Statesman Award during the conference by demonstrating their knowledge of Skills USA, parliamentary procedure and business etiquette.
Maxwell High School of Technology was also recognized Friday, September 17, during the Closing General Session of the SkillsUSA Georgia Fall Leadership Conference for receiving the State Membership Award. This award is based on total membership to date and is competitive in nature as it is based on membership reported from across the state. Receiving this award is a tremendous honor for our school as it reflects a high level of involvement and commitment from all CTAE teachers as well as our administration.
Ms. Gayle Silvey, State Director for SkillsUSA Georgia, sent congratulations and commended the Maxwell High School chapter for leading the way for SkillsUSA Georgia!
