We encourage your children to ride the bus as often as possible for these reasons:
1. Fewer cars on the road help our environment. The quality of our air is important! Fewer cars also reduce the traffic and the time it takes for all students to arrive and dismiss safely.
2. Buses are safer for all students.
3. Students riding the buses learn to follow rules and learn a different type of responsibility.
4. Riding the bus means your child will never be tardy to school and will always be home on time.
If you choose to drive your child to and from school, please be mindful of the following guidelines:
· Students may not be dropped off before 7:45 a.m.
· Students must be in their classrooms by 8:15 a.m. or they will be counted tardy.
· Once the car rider area closes in the morning, parents must escort their child into the front office to check the student in. Students who arrive after the car rider area closes will be counted as tardy.
· Cars may not enter or leave the bus lanes while buses are loading and unloading.
· Car riders will be released after the buses have been loaded and departed campus in the afternoon.
· All car riders must be dropped off and picked up in the car rider lane located at the side of the school (see traffic flow map can we make this a link from here). We ask that parents be courteous and adhere to the designated traffic flow pattern.
Please know that our goal is for students to arrive and dismiss safely. As our enrollment increases, the task of dismissing close to 900 students safely and quickly will continue to challenge all of us. We must all work together cooperatively and positively for the safe arrival and dismissal of all students. Thank you for following these rules and procedures!
