Letter from the
Principal
Spring is upon us and the weather is finally turning warmer. Spring break will be from April 4 – April 8 and I know both our students and teachers are ready for a little relaxation before we move into the final weeks of school. It’s hard to believe that in just over a month we will be wrapping up another school year!
All make-up days for our winter weather have now been added to the calendar and can be found in the “Important Dates” section of this newsletter. Our final PTA meeting of the year is scheduled for March 31st. Because of calendar changes made necessary by the inclement weather in January, the meeting was moved from its original date in April. Our April family fun learning night was also cancelled because the CRCT will now be given during the week of April 25th – 29th. This change in testing dates has also necessitated the rescheduling of this year’s field days. Details are still being worked out, but the dates for field days have been set for May 9, 10, and 11.
Some other popular spring events are just around the corner in April. Students will have the opportunity to support our Relay for Life team by participating in a mini Relay during specials on April 15th. Our 2nd Annual Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday, April 16 at 9:00 a.m. Information about both of these events will be sent home with students. Our annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast has been moved up to April 20th to coincide with National Public School Volunteers week. Those of you who have been so instrumental in serving our school will be receiving your invitations in the mail for this event very soon.
As always, April and May will be extremely busy at our school. As always, our focus will remain on teaching and learning as we work to ensure that our students are fully prepared to move to the next level in their educational career.
As always, thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Marci Sledge
Principal
