Dr. Diana Hammond, Coordinator- Autism Levels 3, 4, and 5

Dr. Diana Hammond is the Program Coordinator for the high-functioning Autism programs. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern. Her Master’s degree was earned at the University of Georgia in special education with an emphasis in students with intellectual disabilities. Her Doctorate degree is also from the University of Georgia in special education with an emphasis in students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Dr. Hammond has served as a teacher in the Gwinnett County School System for 14 years, all in the field of special education, having taught resource, severe/intellectual disabilities, and autism. Dr. Hammond also served as an Instructional Coach for the Department of Special Education for 2 years prior to becoming Program Coordinator. She believes that regardless of disability, all children have value, can learn, and should be provided appropriate educational opportunities.
