Kay Strickland, Special Education Coordinator for the Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) program, believes that all children can achieve given appropriate time, opportunity and instruction. Ms. Strickland has taught at the elementary and middle school levels in the Orthopedically Impaired Program and Interrelated Resource program, as well as serving as a Special Education Support Teacher. Ms. Strickland has a B.A. in Psychology, a Bachelors in Learning Disabilities/Behavior Disorders, Orthopedically Impaired and Social Psychology from the University of Toledo. She holds a Master’s degree in Orthopedically Impaired from Georgia State University. In 2007, Ms. Strickland earned a Specialist’s degree in Educational Administration and Policy from the University of Georgia. She has been an educator in Gwinnett County Public Schools since 1982.
