Gwinnett County Public Schools desires to have the best qualified teaching and non-teaching substitutes to serve the students of our school district.
Substitute Teacher - Teaching substitutes are needed for all grade levels and subject areas. All substitute teaching candidates must complete an online application and have at least 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours from a regionally accredited college or university or a PSC approved institution. All substitute employees are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal record check. Substitutes employed in Gwinnett County Public Schools work on an as-needed basis.
Step 1 – Complete an Online Application
Step 2 – Upload Required Documents
- A copy of your college diploma or transcripts (on school paper) showing completion of at least 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours from a regionally accredited college or university.
- A copy of the STEDI Online Training Course Sub Diploma with a composite score of at least 75%. If you hold a valid or expired professional teaching certificate, or you have completed a practicum or student teaching in Gwinnett County, you are exempt from the STEDI Online Training.
Step 3 – Contact Human Resources
Once your supervisory reference form has been completed (check online application for Reference Survey Status) and you have satisfied Steps 1 & 2, contact Human Resources – Substitute Staffing at (678) 301-6000 regarding the next step in the application process.
Substitute Custodian - Gwinnett County Public Schools is accepting applications for Substitute Custodial positions. The minimum requirement for employment consideration as a Substitute Custodian is to complete and submit an online application. After approval by Human Resources, applicants must complete an interview process. All substitute employees are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal record check.
Substitutes employed in Gwinnett County Public Schools work on an as-needed basis.
