The following are additional steps you can take to avoid disastrous email mistakes:
Double-check old text below your response to be sure the information is okay for others to see. If someone wrote you something in confidence, ensure it’s not accidentally available for others to read.
Make use of emoticons and other methods to show your state of mind. Examples include smiley faces :-), or explanations like <grin>, or <sarcasm on>.
While email faux pas are folklore on the internet – it is not entertaining when it happens to you. Never take email privacy for granted.
