2008-09 TOTY graphicSix educators are named finalists for GCPS' top teacher
Six teachers have been selected as finalists for the 2009 GCPS Teacher of the Year (TOTY) honor from among 20 semifinalists and 112 local TOTYs. GCPS extends congratulations to Jodi Sanchez of Bethesda Elementary, Sue Tavernier of Mulberry Elementary, Aimée Burgamy of Trickum Middle, Ken Leach of Collins Hill High, Mike Reilly of North Gwinnett High, and Todd Shultz of Phoenix High. Community input needed on curriculum materials and AKS  With the right tools, our students are ready to learn
Materials used in the classroom are invaluable tools that support student achievement. Parents, staff, and community members are invited to review and provide input on proposed curriculum materials for grades K-12 Health and Physical Education, grades 10-12 Mathematics, and grades 9-12 Reading Intervention. All materials will be available for review at the Instructional Support Center (ISC). Click here for directions to the ISC. The instructional materials review run through Oct. 31. Citizens also may give input on the system's Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) curriculum through Nov. 9. Click here for more on the materials review and here for AKS review details.
