BOE-BOC Joint Study Task Force
Task force seeks citizen input on
improving school system-county collaboration
A Joint Study Task Force has been meeting since September 2002 to consider
ways to improve collaboration between Gwinnett County Public Schools and
Gwinnett County government. The citizen task force-- appointed by the Gwinnett
County Board of Education, Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners and the
Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce-- is gathering feedback from the public about
how county government and the school system can enhance working relationships
for the good of the community and its citizens
The task force will use feedback gathered in this questionnaire as members
develop recommendations for enhancing school-county cooperation in areas of
mutual interest, specifically planning, operations, and infrastructure. The results
will be included in the task force’s summary report to the Board of Education and
the Board of County Commissioners next fall.
As part of that process, the public is invited to participate in an automated telephone questionnaire.
Here’s how to participate in the questionnaire:
1.Call (678) 377-8901, anytime— 24 hours a day— between now and
5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28. This is a local call.
2. When asked, punch in Questionnaire Number 1200.
3. Then, callers just follow the instructions using their telephone keypad to
indicate their answers.
The questionnaire takes about 10 minutes to complete. Citizens participating in the questionnaire also will be given information on how they can share
additional comments by e-mail.
