Interim Assessments

Interim Assessments

Gwinnett County Public Schools uses interim assessments as part of its comprehensive assessment program. Interim assessments help assess students strengths and weaknesses within course strands, helping to identify gaps in knowledge. These tools also allow teachers to analyze classroom data and use it for instructional planning to maximize teaching and learning opportunities.

In grades 1-8, interim assessments are administered for language arts and mathematics. Also, in grades 3-8 interim assessments are used to assess science and social studies knowledge. In high school, interim assessments are provided in Language Arts, Algebra, Geometry, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, US History, and World History.
