Community supports school system through Foundation

This fall, community partners have donated more than $85,000 to the Gwinnett
County Public Schools Foundation Fund in support of scholarships and learning.

The Community Foundation of North East Georgia, the Nordson Corporation, and Scientific Atlanta each contributed
$20,000 and Verizon contributed $10,000 in support of Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology.
Georgia Power contributed $10,000 to help the Foundation with start-up costs. A $3,500 donation from Terri Jondahl
of CAB, Inc., established a scholarship to fund participation for Gwinnett DECA marketing students in regional, state,
and international competitions and to support the North Gwinnett High Robotics Program. Gwinnett Village Community
Alliance contributed $3,000 to enrich academic programs at Summerour Middle. Autism Speaks donated books
and teacher guides to Gwinnett elementary school media centers to promote awareness about autism and its
effects on individuals, families, and society.
