There are good days and there are great days. Oct. 19 was a great day… the day Gwinnett County Public Schools was named the 2010 winner of the The Broad Prize for Urban Education. With the videos and other resources below, share some of the pride and excitement of the day with our teachers and administrators-- the folks in the local schools who make a difference for our students every day.

“What should Gwinnett County Public Schools be like in the next decade?” That’s the question we asked ourselves and our stakeholders as we developed and fine-tuned the school district’s Strategic Priorities for 2010–2020. On the school system website, you’ll find a number of resources that help communicate GCPS’ strategic direction… how we see the district moving ahead in the next 5 to 10 years and the role you can play in making public education in GCPS even better and stronger as we work together to build a better Gwinnett.
About… Race to the Top
On Aug. 24, the state learned that it had been awarded a $400 million federal grant over the next four years to pursue the education improvement initiatives outlined in Georgia’s Race to the Top (RT3) application. Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is one of the 26 partner school districts in the state's application, with a share of about $21 million for its RT3 initatives.
