Concert Choir prepares for D.C. Heritage Festival performance

Shiloh High's Choir prepares to share the gift of song   
Fresh from the excitement of winning a $5,000 prize and the opportunity to sing back-up for the "American Idol" tour in Athens on Dec. 5 and 6, Shiloh High's Choir is preparing to perform in the Heritage Music Festival in Washington, D.C., Jan. 17-19. Click here to hear these talented students.

Winter Break begins Dec.19
Dec. 19

GCPS pursues IE2 Partnership Contract
Raising student achievement is a priority in Gwinnett. The IE2 Partnership Contract holds the promise of allowing the school system to maximize and allocate its resources to reach that goal. In a nutshell, the partnershp contract provides schools more flexibility from certain state mandates in exchange for more accountability. Board adopts legislative priorities
for 2009 session

Parents are their child's first teachers, and GCPS' Be There campaign is designed to help raise parents' awareness of "teachable moments" with their child. Click here to learn more about Be There and here to experience the Fall 2008 Be There Fair.
GSMST registration materials are available  GSMST students and teacher ignite science excitement
Jan. 23, 2009, is the deadline for rising 9th graders to register for Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST) for 2009-10. GSMST, a Gwinnett charter high school that draws students from around the county, can accommodate 250 students in the freshman class. If more than 250 students register, GCPS will hold a random lottery to identify students eligible to enroll for 2009-10. Click here to visit the GSMST web site and download the application packet.
