Vending machines with nutritious snacks, fresh sandwiches, milk, and juices offer healthy options for Phoenix High students. The system's School Nutrition Program is piloting the vending machines at 
the school this spring.

Accurate census count
important for schools  The U.S. Census begins in March 2010

The 2010 Census will offer a snapshot of every American household on Census Day (April 1). Learn why an accurate count is important for our schools and community on the Census Bureau web site. Watch for your quick, easy, and confidential questionnaire in the mail. GCPS is an official partner with the U.S. Census Bureau. On Census Day and throughout April, return your census questionnaire to a Be Counted drop-box, available at some schools, or send to the U.S. Census Bureau by mail.
Time flies... and so do the daysCalendar notes... 
  • Gwinnett students will take state and local tests in March and April. High school students can access Gateway study materials for the science and social studies subtests. Check out upcoming testing dates, learn about the testing program, and review a few tips and helpful hints to prepare your student.  
  • Daylight Saving Time begins on Sun., March 14. Advance clocks one hour. 
  • Looking ahead on the 2009-10 calendar, March 12 is a student holiday and March 15 is a flood make-up day (school in session).
  • The Special Needs Transition Fair will be held at Peachtree Ridge High on Sat., March 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
