GCPS students... full of potential and promiseGwinnett ACT and SAT scores top state, national averages 
Gwinnett's students posted average ACT and SAT scores above the state and national averages. In fact, two GCPS high schools' scores were among the top 25 schools in Georgia. Both the ACT and SAT are used by colleges and universities to predict how well students will perform at the postsecondary level. Since the start of the 2008-09 school year, GCPS has seen the addition of 5,254 new students, bringing current student enrollment to 157,638. For 2008-09, a number of schools have new principals as well, the result of retirements and transfers. Click here to meet new principals for 2008-09.

GCPS to enhance
driver's education program
  2008 Education in Gwinnett
Thanks to a $126,000 grant from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety, students in Gwinnett's driver's education program will have access to new tools for the road. The system will purchase driving simulators for each of the driving programs offered through GCPS' community schools. Senior Passes available for
GCPS athletic events
 
Interested in cheering for your favorite student athletes this year? Gwinnett County residents age 65 and older are eligible for Senior Passes! The passes allow free access to many GCPS athletic events. (State and regional championship events and tournaments are excluded.) For more information about obtaining a Senior Pass, please call (678) 301-7274 for more information and click here for access to all 2008-09 Fall Sports schedules.
