Centerville Elementary will sponsor an activity for students and their fathers and father-figures on Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m. The Dads Of Great Students (D.O.G.S.) Program will begin the school year at Centerville Elementary with a Watch DOGS Pizza Night in the cafeteria. Keith Schumacher, National Training Coordinator for Watch DOGS, will be the guest speaker for the event. Watch Dogs is a safe schools initiative of the National Center for Fathering. Brookwood High and Mill Creek High will host the 2010 GCPS High School Marching Band Exhibition. Brookwood High welcomes the southern portion of the county on Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the Brookwood Community Stadium. Archer, Berkmar, Brookwood, Central Gwinnett, Grayson, Meadowcreek, Parkview, Shiloh and South Gwinnett high schools will perform, along with the Georgia Tech Marching Yellow Jackets. High schools located in the northern portion of the county will be hosted at the Mill Creek High stadium on Sept.21 at 6:30 p.m., and will feature Collins Hill, Dacula, Duluth, Lanier, Mill Creek, Mountain View, Norcross, North Gwinnett and Peachtree Ridge high schools. “GCPS Focus” This month’s program takes a look at the Positive Behavior Support system, spotlights a home-grown approach to nutrition education, and celebrates a notable achievement of the award-winning broadcast team from GCPS TV. Join us for these stories and more on GCPS Focus— your news show about Gwinnett County Public Schools. This 30-minute program airs this week at 6:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.
“Meet the Author - Adriana Trigiani” Adriana Trigiani, author of “Big Stone Gap”, enters the world of young adult literature with “Viola in Reel Life”, the first in a series. Roommates, dates, ghosts, and moviemaking are part of the mix for Viola. During the program, Trigiani shares the factors that influenced her writing and her approach to the writing process. This 30-minute program airs Sept. 13-18 at 1 p.m.
“Spanish for Educators - Level 2” This GCPS original 10-part series is taught by Elisa Brown, Hopkins Elementary assistant principal. This program is an introduction to the Spanish language, tailored especially for educators and other school employees. Hour-long segments will air at 11 a.m. Monday-Sunday, through Nov. 5 (a new class will air each week, beginning on Monday).

TV cable channels and providers include: Charter on Channel 22, and Comcast on Channel 24 and 26.
