Transportation celebrates top drivers, monitor

Bus Manager of the year, Regular Ed: June Thomason drives in the North Gwinnett cluster. Finalists were Dranda Chatham, Luther Hollums, Jennifer West, and Denise Barrett.
Bus Manager of the Year, Special Needs: Robert Purcell drives for the Special Needs East Sector. Finalists were Tammy Lively and Vicki Jolly.
Bus Monitor of the Year: Heather Mack serves students in the Berkmar Cluster. Finalists were Charlene Coleman and Dori Puckett.
Nominated regular education bus managers were Joyce Yearwood, John Carpenter, Patricia D. Smith, Shurod Swift, Natasha Jackson, Dixie Moon, Sherry Fuller, Richard Hulsey, Kellie Terrell, Wendy Christopher, Victoria Massey, Sara Reed, David Wray, Teresa "Tee" Friedrich, Donna Ethridge, Glenda Porter, Jeanette Lee, Stacy Chamblee, and Toni East. Nominated bus managers serving students with special needs were Joyce Price, Donna Zarco, Tempa Kohler, Sharon Cook, Ernie Eison and Chantal Long. Nominated bus monitors were Shirley Cofer, Mandi Herrington, Gloria McDaniel, Laverne Everett, Jimmy Gresham and Barbara Tamplin.
Representatives are selected by their peers. They are tested in both written and skill formats, and a final evaluation "ride along" is performed to determine the winner. "Gwinnett's bus managers and monitors establish a positive tone for students at the beginning of each school day and cap that experience off in the afternoon”, says Grant Reppert, Director of Transportation. "All of our drivers and monitors can be extremely proud of the excellent job they do every day."
