CEO/Superintendent's Holiday Message
|Employees, supportive community among my many blessings this year|
Certain times of the year lead us to reflect on those things that are truly important to us: family and friends, compassion for other people, and being a part of something larger than ourselves.
As this year draws to a close, I send my heartfelt thanks to all of our employees who have worked so hard to serve our students in 2007. We have achieved much this year and I look forward to continuing our work together in 2008 to move this school system even closer to its vision of becoming a system of world-class schools… one in which all children reach their learning potential and are prepared to become all they can be. In Gwinnett, our schools are more than just buildings… they are hubs in the community. And, the work of our teachers and support staff is much more than just a job… it is important work that has a profound impact on every child’s life and on their families.
The holidays also offer the perfect opportunity for me to extend that message of appreciation to you-- the parents, business leaders, and citizens of our community-- for your support of the important work we in the school system do on your behalf. Your pride in our schools is well placed. On a daily basis we are making excellence happen for students. Our staunch commitment to student learning, combined with the support of our community, provides a strong foundation for our school system's continued success.
I hope that during this busy holiday season you make time for the things that matter most. Know that the dedicated employees of this school system, along with you-- our supportive parents, active volunteers, and engaged business community-- are among the many things I will count as blessings when my family and I celebrate Christmas.
I wish you all good health and happiness during the holiday season and throughout 2008. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
