2009 Redistricting Information

In August 2010, Gwinnett County Public Schools will open five new elementary schools and one new middle school. On October 2, 2009, the school district launched its redistricting process in the areas that will make up these school communities. The new schools and the existing schools involved in the redistricting include:
Burnette Elementary School-- 3221 Burnette Road in Suwanee (will affect Parsons ES and Mason ES)
Ferguson Elementary School
-- 1755 Centerview Drive in Duluth (will affect Hopkins ES, Minor ES, Corley ES, Kanoheda ES and Benefield ES) (Radloff MS, Sweetwater MS and Berkmar MS) (Berkmar HS and Meadowcreek HS)
Jenkins Elementary School
-- 12 Village Way in Lawrenceville (will affect Simonton ES, Lawrenceville ES and Winn Holt ES)
Roberts Elementary School
-- 251 Buford Highway in Suwanee (will affect Suwanee ES, Level Creek ES and Riverside ES)
Snell Elementary School
-- 4521 Centerville Highway in Snellville ( will affect Norton ES, Partee ES, Annistown ES, Shiloh ES, Centerville ES, Britt ES and Magill ES) (Snellville MS and Shiloh MS) (South Gwinnett HS and Shiloh HS)
Midway Middle School
-- 3800 Brushy Fork Road in Loganville (will affect Snellville MS)

The system's redistricting process is an inclusive one that allows GCPS to gather input from educators, parents, and community members on the proposed district line revisions. The draft Boundary recommendations were drawn using information about current enrollment, enrollment forecasts, enrollment history, existing identifiable boundaries, the locations of the schools, and student transportation. Input forms were due November 4, 2009.

Key dates in this redistricting process include:

November 4, Deadline for completion of boundary input forms.

November 13, 2009-- Boundary committee completes review and submits recommendations.

November 19, 2009-- Public redistricting comments from affected schools (Location Instructional Support Center Board Room, 7-9 p.m.

November 25-December 4-- Final recommendations with revised boundary maps delivered to schools.

December 10, 2009-- Anticipated Board of Education vote on redistricting
