|Content Area Retests|
In 2012-13, the GCPS Content Area Retests (CAR) will be administered as part of the GCPS Gateway program for elementary and middle school students who are participating in the Gwinnett Transition or Extended Transition Program. For students in the Gwinnett Transition or Extended Transition Programs, these tests are used as retests to meet the Grade 4 or Grade 7 promotion criteria that have not been met.
The CAR for Grades 4 and 7 are designed to measure student acquisition of the knowledge and skills set forth in the state’s Georgia Performance Standards (GPS) and the GCPS Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS). The CAR for Grades 4 and 7 are multiple choice tests and will be administered three times during the school year: in December, 2012, in March, 2013, and in the summer of 2013.
Your child’s teacher can provide additional information about the Gateway assessment program and/or the Content Area Retests.
Please note: CAR will only be available for students participating in the Gwinnett Transition or Extended Transition Programs during the 2012-13 school year. The CAR will no longer be administered after summer, 2013 due to changes in the state’s curriculum. Please see the Promotion and Graduation Requirements page for additional information regarding promotion or contact the Office of School Operations and Support.
