Our department is committed to providing all the necessary data resources to enhance teachers’ ability to access and evaluate the needs of all students. Through numerous and varied staff development opportunities, teachers and administrators are trained to access student data for the identification of the strengths and areas of challenge of their students to target performance goals that support the District's vision and mission.

The Office of Assessment
Gwinnett County Public Schools’ assessment program is a critical component of the school district’s focus on teaching and learning. We measure student achievement in a number of ways to ensure students are learning the curriculum. Our assessment program, the Gwinnett Comprehensive Assessment & Accountability System, helps teachers identify students who are not mastering the curriculum, providing them with diagnostic data and information so that they can identify students’ strengths and weaknesses. This helps teachers to plan appropriate instructional and educational programs to promote student success.
The goal of the Assessment Office is to provide valid and reliable assessments that will provide educators and parents with timely information to make the best possible instructional decisions for each child. We strive to provide a comprehensive assessment and accountability system.
