Assessment Option(s):
Each student will outline the similarities and differences of the inner and outer planets. They will produce a written document to share their results. A rubric will be used to assess student progress. (See attachment.)

Activity:
After reading the accompanying text pages, discuss the similarities and differences between the inner and the outer planets.
Students should write their findings on their graphic organizer and place it in their science notebooks.
Students will then go to the IBM computer lab to outline their comparisons.
They will use the computer program, Inspiration to outline and print their comparisons.
Gifted students may prepare a web page using Homestead free web page builder outlining the comparisons
of the inner and outer planets.
