Activity: - Teacher and students echo-sing the song twice.
- Teacher introduces rhythmic piece with motions (T241) using short and long sounds.
- Students practice the speech piece with motions.
- Teacher and students discuss the words that have long and short sounds.
- Teacher and students discuss and experiment with instruments that could be played in the rhythmic piece to demonstrate the long and short sounds. Instruments are then selected.
- Students, accompanied by the CD, sing "Pumpkin Stew". In the musical interlude, students chant the rhythmic piece, then repeat the song with instruments. |
