BookSharp

BookSharp is a reading incentive program that has proven to be effective in helping to teach reading comprehension to students in second-fifth grade. Each book in the program is assigned a point value which is determined by the difficulty of the book. After students read a book, they take a computerized comprehension test. When they pass the test, they earn points which accumulate. Students are recognized at the following three levels:
25 pts. - Student's picture is placed on the BookSharp Bulletin Board and moved forward as the students earn more points.
100 pts. - Student receives a medal.
300 pts. - Student receives a trophy and is entered into the BookSharp Hall of Fame.

During the 2002-2003 school year, students mastered 19,469 books and earned 54,612 points. We look forward to even more participation in the BookSharp program this year and to seeing lots of new readers! Click the BookSharp Reading List link to see the entire list of BookSharp books.
