Welcome to Mason Elementary where students are committed to excellence through rigorous academics, personal responsibility and mutual respect.

At Mason, we are committed to making sure all students receive a strong instructional foundation through the AKS, Gwinnett County Academic Knowledge and Skills. Teachers develop curriculum maps to guide their daily instruction of the AKS. The Georgia Performance Standards (GPS), which is the state curriculum are also embedded in our AKS.

All students are required to learn grade level AKS for promotion to the next grade level. Students in grades 3-5 are assessed at the end of the year on the Georgia CRCT, this is a state required test. In addition, fifth grade students are assessed on The Georgia Writing Test.

Students are responsible for coming to school each day, prepared to learn the curriculum that has been prepared to meet their educational needs. Students are also required to show excellence in behavior, through mutual respect for one another.

We are fortunate at Mason to have a community of committed staff, students and parents who have a shared vision in continuing to strive for excellence in education.
