Dear Parents of Future Patrick Elementary Students:
I am thrilled to be the newly appointed principal of Patrick Elementary. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am Margaret Ackerman. For the past 4 years, I have
been the principal of Meadowcreek Elementary. Prior to Meadowcreek, I was an assistant principal at Rock Springs, Bethesda and Rockbridge. I have been an educator for 21 years and an administrator for 14 years. I hold a Masters Degree in Reading from Clemson University and a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Supervision from Emory. I consider being given
the opportunity to open Patrick Elementary an honor.

Our school is projected to open with 810 students coming from Harmony and Ivy Creek Elementary Schools. The construction of the building is progressing on schedule. I am anxious for you to be able to see the facility. We will plan to have an Open House this summer in July. There is always lots of excitement in opening a new school. Patrick's mission will be focused on teaching and learning in a warm and safe environment.
In late April, I will be meeting with the students transferring to Patrick Elementary to discuss the school and seek their input on the school mascot. I look forward to meeting your children. In the meantime, your children may access the history of the naming of Patrick as well as the "Mascot" button on the website. This will provide them with a link to send me suggestions for the mascot.
