The Gwinnett County Board of Education will hold its Monthly Work Session and Business Meeting on Thursday, April 18, at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center (437 Old Peachtree Road NW, Suwanee, GA 30024). The meeting will start with Governance Team Training at 1:30 p.m. in rooms 1.106, 1.107, and 1.108. The Monthly Work Session will continue at 4:10 p.m. in the Executive Board Room. The Monthly Business Meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room.

Expected Behavior and Decorum of Visitors to Board Meetings

Gwinnett County Public Schools is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for everyone attending meetings of the Gwinnett County Board of Education. As part of this commitment, the district has implemented additional safety and security measures, including clear communication regarding expectations for visitors, an increase in the number of school resource officers supporting the meeting, additional staff welcoming visitors and monitoring the room, and video monitoring of those entering the Board Room. Attendees will pass through a security screening checkpoint prior to entering the meeting. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

On Thursday, April 18, the Gwinnett County Board of Education will hold its second FY2025 Budget Work Session at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center, 437 Old Peachtree Road, NW, Suwanee, GA 30024. The public is welcome to attend the meeting in person or view the livestream on the GCPS website.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-25 school year is now available, and will be completely online. Parents and guardians of children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2024, are encouraged to register their new kindergartner by May 3 to be entered into a drawing for cool learning prizes!

Families can help with the Planet vs Plastics campaign by learning about recycling and the use of reusable items, dedicating time and energy to cleaning waste, planting trees and gardens, learning about climate change, volunteering in our local communities, and more.

GCPS is seeking public feedback on supplemental materials

Gwinnett County Public Schools invites parents, students, staff, and community members to provide feedback on supplemental materials that have been proposed to support Multilingual Learners at the Elementary School level. The virtual public review of these resources will run through Saturday, April 27.
